Armenian, EU Foreign Affairs Heads Discuss Karabakh Conflict
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell met yesterday in Brussels ahead of the fourth meeting of the Armenia-EU Partnership Council.
Mirzoyan, according to a statement released by his office, presented Armenia's position on the establishment of regional peace and stability and the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno Karabakh conflict.
"The Armenian Foreign Minister stressed the importance of international community support, in particular, the EU, to co-chair the OSCE Minsk Group to promote a comprehensive settlement of the conflict," the statement reads.
Prior to the meeting, Mirzoyan told reporters that Armenia’s vision of the peace process with Azerbaijan includes a discussion of the rights of Karabakh Armenians and its status.
Mirzoyan said that Baku hasn’t responded to Armenia’s counterproposals regarding peace talks.
