First Armenian Satellite Launched from Cape Canaveral
Armenia’s first space satellite was launched yesterday from Cape Canaveral in the United States.
Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan today told his cabinet ministers that the satellite, launched on a SpaceX craft, will take photos for border control, emergency prevention and management, environmental protection, including climate change monitoring, urban planning, road construction, geology, and more.
The satellite is a joint venture of Armenia’s state-run GeoCosmos company and the Spanish company Satlantis.
Armenian Minister of High-Tech Industry Robert Khachatryan and Armenian Ambassador to the U.S. Lilit Makunts were present at the launch site.
