Armenian President, Georgian Parliament Speaker Discuss Regional Security

Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, now in Georgia on an official visit, today met with Georgian Parliament Speaker Shalva Papuashvili in Tbilisi.

Khachaturyan, according to a statement released by his office, said that Armenia highly values ​​and greatly supports Armenian-Georgian relations.

"The centuries-old brotherly relations between the Armenian and Georgian peoples are still based on mutual respect and friendly cooperation between our two countries,” Khachaturyan is quoted as saying.

The two officials stressed the need for the further development neighborly relations between their countries.

They discussed regional security issues and steps needed to strengthen stability in the South Caucasus.
