Armenia Allocates $67,000 in Grants to Train Aspiring Young Scientists
The Armenian government will allocate 28 million AMD (US$67,145) in grants to aspiring young scientists so that they can receive training courses designed to acquaint them with how leading foreign research organizations work and to motivate them to pursue a career in the sciences.
Grants ranging from 3-5 million AMD will be awarded applicants who participate in the Young Scientists Training Program (YSTP) competition.
Applicants can be masters, post-graduate students, non-academic researchers of Armenian universities and scientific organizations in Artsakh, as well as young scientists who are candidates of science.
The competition is part of the Young Scientists Support Program (YFAS).
A meeting presenting the YSTP took place today at the Armenian Academy of Sciences.
YSAS Expert Council member Hayk Zakaryan said there are no restrictions on what science sectors applicants want to pursue but that some preference will be given to applications with social science themes and applications with co-financing.
