Armenian Foreign Minister, Greek President Discuss Expanding Cooperation

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, now in Athens on a working visit, met with President of Greece Katerina Sakellaropoulo on June 27 and noted that relations between their countries are based on centuries-old traditional friendship and that those relations should be expanded.

The sides, according to a statement released by Mirzoyan’s office, discussed increasing Armenian-Greek cooperation in trade, education, culture, information technologies, tourism and other spheres of mutual interest.

Mirzoyan briefed Sakellaropoulo on the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and Armenia’s position on the processes to establish regional peace.

Mirzoyan also underscored the support provided by Greece to the Armenian people during the 2020 Karabakh war, especially humanitarian aid.
