Turkey Responsible for Lack of Progress in Talks, Says Armenian Special Envoy
Armenian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Ruben Rubinyan, the country’s special envoy for normalization talks with Turkey, said Ankara was the reason little progress has been made to date.
“Armenia has the political will to reach a quick settlement and has shown such will. Any success all depends on Turkey, whether it has the will,” Rubinyan told reporters today at the parliament.
Rubinyan said he and his Turkish counterpart Serdar Kılıç have never discussed any issues regarding the border between Armenia and Turkey.
The two envoys first met in Moscow last January. A second meeting was held in Vienna in February.
The next round of talks between Armenia and Turkey to normalize relations will take place on July 1 in Vienna.
