Armenian law enforcement uncovered an illegal gambling hall in the basement of a building in Yerevan’s Shengavit neighborhood.

The State Revenue Committee (SRC), in a statement released today, says the casino has taken in some 5.5 billion drams (US$13.7 million) to date.

According to the SRC, the casino operated mainly two days a week and only at night. Since the casino operated on a limited basis, casual visitors could not enter the premises.

Potential gamblers were informed in advance about any upcoming card games.
