Pashinyan, Erdoğan Hold First Telephone Conversation
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Turkish President Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had their first ever telephone conversation today.
Pashinyan, according to a statement released by his office, congratulated Erdoğan on the Muslim holiday of Kurban Bayramı (Eid al-Adha or the Feast of Sacrifice), and Erdoğan congratulated Pashinyan on Vardavar, a holiday celebrating the Transfiguration of Jesus Christ.
The two emphasized the importance of talks to normalize relations, arguing the process will also contribute to the strengthening of regional peace and stability.
They expressed the hope that the agreements reached during the July 1 meeting of their special envoys in Vienna will be implemented soon.
