Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, now in Brussels on a working visit, today met with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Affairs Josep Borrell, telling him that any normalization of relations between Yerevan and Baku must be based on the recognition of each other's territorial integrity and sovereignty,

Bayramov thanked the European Council for organizing meetings between the Armenian and Azerbaijani leaders and for facilitating negotiations.

“The European Union plays an important role in the post-war period. In this regard, we welcome President Charles Michel's efforts and support for the normalization of Armenia-Azerbaijan relations."

The two also discussed last week's meeting, in Tbilisi, of Armenia’s and Azerbaijan’s foreign ministers.
