Armenian Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan today, in Yerevan, met with the representatives of the Aznavour Foundation to discuss plans to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the birth of the famed chanteuse Charles Aznavor.

Foundation CEO Kristina Aznavour announced that a statue of Charles Aznavour will be installed in France in 2024 to commemorate his birth in Paris in 1924.

A concert and exhibition dedicated to Aznavour’s life will also take place in France.

The Yerevan Municipality is discussing plans to erect a statue of Charles Aznavour in the Armenian capital and to hold a series of commemorative events.
