Armenia’s Ministry of Emergency Situations today reports that six people have been confirmed to have died in yesterday’s explosion at Yerevan’s Surmalu Market and eighteen are reported missing.

Sixty-one people were sent to local hospitals for medical treatment after the blast that, according to preliminary official accounts, was caused when a fireworks warehouse caught fire.

Thirteen are still being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Update: The official death toll has been raised to ten and the number of missing is eighteen.
