Armenia, Georgia Open New Border Bridge
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Gharibashvili today officially opened the Armenian-Georgian Friendship Bridge at the Bagratashen-Sadakhlo checkpoint.
The new bridge spans the Debed River and was jointly financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (ERBD), and Armenia and Georgia.
It was built by the Iranian Ariana Tunnel Dam Company.
The two officials said the bridge will facilitate greater trade between Armenia and Georgia and serve as an important link for the Persian Gulf-Black Sea transit system.
