The Artsakh government today confirmed news reports that Azerbaijani government representatives, with their Artsakh counterparts, yesterday visited the Sarsang Reservoir in the north of Armenian-controlled Artsakh in a bid to resolve ongoing water distribution issues.

The Artsakh government, in a statement, says the two sides, with mediation by Russian peacekeepers, have been in contact regarding water management issues since the end of the 2020 Artsak war.

While the reservoir is in territory controlled by Artsakh, much of the irrigation and potable water distribution systems are in areas now controlled by Azerbaijan.
