Azerbaijani Troops Enter Lachin, Says Aliyev
Azerbaijani military units have entered the town of Berdzor (Lachin) and have taken control of the Armenian villages of Aghavno (Zabukh) and Sus, this according to a Twitter post by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
A new roadway connecting Armenia and Artsakh will begin in the village of Kornidzor (Syunik), traverse Artsakh’s former Kashatagh and Shushi districts, and end in Stepanakert, the Artsakh capital via the existing Goris-Stepanakert highway.
Russian peacekeepers will continue to ensure vehicular security on the existing Lachin corridor until August 31 and will then be deployed along the new roadway.
Armenians living in Berdzor, Sus and Aghavno have since been evacuated.
