Armenian Foreign Minister, U.S. Minsk Group Co-Chair Discuss Karabakh Issue
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and newly appointed US Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Senior Advisor on Caucasus Negotiations Philip Reeker, met today in Yerevan and discussed regional security and stability and the process to normalize Armenia-Azerbaijan relations.
The two, according to a statement released by Pashinyan’s office, stressed the role of the U.S. as a Minsk Group Co-Chair to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Mirzoyan broached the humanitarian problems caused by the 2020 Artsakh war, pointing out the need for the immediate repatriation of Armenian POWs and other detained persons held by Azerbaijan, as well as the need to preserve the Armenian cultural and religious heritage in territories under Azerbaijani control.
