The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) reports that Senator Robert Menendez and Senator Marco Rubio of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee issued a new bipartisan resolution condemning Azerbaijan for its recent aggressions towards Armenia and to stop all security assistance to Azerbaijan.

The resolution also calls for an exploration of sanctions against Azerbaijan, the release of Armenian POWs and “robust U.S. assistance Artsakh and Armenia.”

 This legislation spearheaded by Senator Menendez stands alongside two other resolutions one led by Representative Adam Schiff and another led by Representative Jackie Speier who also sits as a Congressional Armenian Caucus co-chair.

Chairman Menendez’s new resolution alongside a letter sent by Chairman Menendez to Secretary of State Antony Blinken both call attention to Azerbaijani aggressions towards Armenia and an immediate “halt security assistance to Azerbaijan.”
