
Gulbenkian Foundation Reps, Government Officials Discuss Teaching Western Armenian in Armenia
The prospects and practicalities of teaching western Armenian in Armenia was discussed today by Director of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation’s Armenian Communities Department Razmik Panossian and Armenian Deputy Ministers of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Artur Martirosyan and Zhanna Andreasyan.
Andreasyan said a western Armenian teaching program designed for senior public schools in Armenia exists.
Panossian said discussions are underway to create a “reading room” for modern western Armenian and prospects to prepare various websites featuring the western branch of the Armenian language.
Also on hand was Panossian’s assistant Shogher Margosian.
