U.S. Congessional Democracy Commission Visits Armenia

A delegation representing The House Democracy Partnership (HDP) of the U.S. House of Representatives arrived in Armenia today for discussions on Armenian-American relations with Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan and National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan.

The delegation, consisting of congressional members HDP Chairman David Price, Diana DeGette, Jim Cooper and Andy Levin, will stay in Armenia for two days and is scheduled to visit Yerevan’s Armenian Genocide Memorial.

The delegation will also hold consultations with parliamentarians representing different political factions.

The HDP, a bipartisan commission, works directly with parliaments around the world to support the development of effective, independent, and responsive legislative institutions.

The HDP established an official partnership with the National Assembly of Armenia in 2020.
