Armenian Parliament Deputy Speaker, French National Assembly President Meet in Paris

Armenian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Hakob Arshakyan and French National Assembly President Yaël Braun-Pivet met in Paris today and discussed international efforts to mediate a peace deal between Yerevan and Baku.

The two, according to a statement released by Arshakyan’s office, stressed the importance of the work undertaken by the EU, under the leadership of French President Macron, in this direction and the recent dispatch of an EU observer mission to the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Arshakyan thanked the French government for the support it has shown Armenia and for condemning Azerbaijani aggression against the sovereign territory of Armenia.

He thanked the work of French MPs to alert the international community about the security threats against Armenia and the Armenian people and to take active international steps in defense of Armenia and the Armenian people.

Yaël Braun-Pivet reaffirmed the solidarity of the French National Assembly and the whole of France to Armenia and the Armenian people.

Arshakyan invited Yaël Braun-Pivet to visit Armenia in an official capacity.
