Armenian Foreign Minister, Minsk Group Russian Co-Chair Discuss Karabakh Issue Resolution

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Russian Minsk Group Co-Chair Igor Khovaev met today in Yerevan and discussed recent steps to normalize Armenian-Azerbaijani relations and resolve the Nagorno Karabakh issue.

They discussed the last tripartite meeting of the leaders of Armenia, Russia and Azerbaijan held in Sochi on October 31.

Mirzoyan, according to his office, emphasized the importance of the commitment of the parties to refrain from the use of force or the threat of force, noting that Azerbaijan continues to hinder the establishment of stable and long-term peace in the region with its aggressive behavior.

Mirzoyan and  Khovaev, who also serves as the Special Representative of Russia’s foreign ministry, also exchanged views on the border demarcation process between Armenia and Azerbaijan, as well as the unblocking of transport infrastructures in the region.
