Artsakh State Minister Ruben Vardanyan, today in Stepanakert, met with a visiting delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) headed by Nagorno Karabakh mission chief Nicolas Fleury and discussed the organization’s work in Artsakh.

Vardanyan, according to his office, emphasized the important work of the ICRC mission in Artsakh, especially in the post-war period, both in terms of humanitarian work and implementation of various population support programs.

Vardanyan drew the delegation's attention to a recent incident in the Khramort village of Askeran when Azerbaijani troops fired on farmers.

"Some 30,000 children live in Artsakh and we are obliged to ensure their safety,” Vardanyan said.
