Armenian Prosecutor General Anna Vardanyan and Iranian Ambassador to Armenia Abbas Zohuri met today in Yerevan and discussed steps to expand cooperation between their countries’ law enforcement agencies.

Zouhri thanked Vardanyan for organizing the meeting and emphasized that relations with Armenia are a priority for Iran, noting the recent opening of an Iranian consulate in Armenia’s southern Syunik Province.

The two officials, according to Vardanyan’s office, addressed a number of issues of mutual interest mainly related to the extradition of convicts and legal assistance in criminal cases and cooperation in the fight against illegal drug trafficking
