Armenia-Azerbaijan Normalization Not Linked to Artsakh Status, Says Stepanakert

The Artsakh Foreign Ministry, in a statement issued today, believes the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan “cannot and should not be related to the status of the Republic of Artsakh.”

The ministry again declared that what remains of Artsakh under Armenian control will never be a part of Azerbaijan.

“The territorial integrity of the Republic of Azerbaijan has nothing to do with the Republic of Nagorno-Karabakh and its status, which was established by the people of our country in complete and strict compliance with the norms and principles of international law and the Soviet legislation in force at that time,” the statement reads.
