Gagik Tsarukyan Might Manage Bus Stations in Armenia
The Armenian government is thinking of contracting the management of bus stations in the country to companies owned by Prosperous Armenia party leader Gagik Tsarukyan.
The stations are now run by the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures.
The companies will be obliged to invest an estimated 5.8 billion AMD (US$14.6m) to renovate and build some 26 bus stations․
In return, the companies will be allowed to retain all monies from the services provided to passengers at the stations (parking, waiting room, toilets, etc.)
Hetq reached out to Tsarukyan’s press secretary for clarification. No one has yet responded.
