Yerevan Protest: Artsakh Youth Demand Reopening of Roadway
Hundreds of former and current Artsakh residents, mostly young people, marched through downtown Yerevan today calling for the reopening of the only roadway linking Artsakh and Armenia.
The demonstrators gathered at the EU office and the French and Russian embassies to voice their concerns and handed protest letters to representatives of these bodies.
A group of Azerbaijanis claiming to be "environmental activists" closed the Stepanakert-Goris highway linking Artsakh and Armenia yesterday for the second time in nine days. Patients at Artsakh hospitals scheduled to be transferred to Armenia for emergency medical treatment remain in Stepanakert, the Artsakh capital.
