Artsakh Refutes Rumors About Reopening of Lachin Corridor
The Artsakh government today announced that rumors circulating on social media that the Lachin Corridor will soon be opened are false.
“Please do not heed such false information and follow only the official news," the message states.
Several hundred Azerbaijanis claiming to be environmental activists continue to block a section of the roadway near Shushi for a third day, keeping the people of Artsakh under siege.
The Azerbaijanis say they are protesting the illegal exploitation of the natural resources of Nagorno Karabakh by Armenians and are demanding a meeting with the commander of the Russian peacekeeping mission, Major General Andrey Volkov to allow them to access mine sites.
Volkov has ignored their demand and has dispatched Russian peacekeepers to the site.
