Armenia Shelves December Meeting with Russian, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers

The Armenian Foreign Ministry today confirmed reports that it has requested a postponement of a meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia, Azerbaijan and Russia planned for December 23 in Moscow.

Ministry Spokesperson Vahan Hunanyan told reporters that the ongoing closure of the Lachin Corridor and the humanitarian crisis in Karabakh has forced Yerevan to request a postponement of the meeting seen as a part of Yerevan-Baku peace talks.

“At the same time, let us declare that as a sign of the constructiveness of the Armenian side in the process of normalization of relations with Azerbaijan, regardless of the circumstances of the meeting, the new proposals of the Armenian side regarding the document on the normalization of relations were transferred to Azerbaijan,” Hunanyan said.
