Seven Seriously Ill from Artsakh Transported to Armenia

Due to the closure by Azerbaijan of the only road connecting Artsakh with Armenia, seven patients from the Republican Medical Centre of the Republic of Artsakh with serious oncological and cardiovascular diseases, as well as pathologies requiring emergency surgical interventions, were transported today, February 11, to specialized medical institutions of Armenia through the mediation and escort of the ICRC.

One patient, who had been transferred to Armenia for medical treatment, returned to Artsakh together with an accompanying person. Planned surgeries in Artsakh medical institutions continue to be suspended.

Five children remain in the neonatology and intensive care units of the Arevik Medical Centre. 12 patients remain n the intensive care unit of the Republican Medical Centre, 4 of them in critical condition. As of today, a total of 90 patients have been transported from Artsakh to Armenia with the mediation and support of the ICRC.
