Artsakh HRD Publishes Report Highlighting Impact of Lachin Corridor Blockade

The Artsakh Human Rights Ombudsman’s Office has published a report summarizing the impact of Azerbaijan’s ongoing blockade of the Lachin Corridor, the sole land route linking Nagorno Karabakh with the outside world.

“The ongoing blockade of Artsakh and disruption of vital infrastructure by Azerbaijan, as well as the regular and consistent armed attacks, aim at subjecting Artsakh to ethnic cleansing through physical and psychological intimidation, creating unbearable conditions and destroying the indigenous Armenian population of Artsakh,” reads a section of the report’s introduction.

The report then describes how the blockade has violated the rights of Artsakh Armenians to freedom of movement, to physical and mental health, to food, to an adequate standard of living, and to work.

The report also focuses on the blockade’s impact on children, persons with disabilities, and the elderly.

The report includes numerous first-hand accounts of people who have suffered because of the one-hundred-day blockade.
