Pashinyan Says Armenia Commited to Peace Despite Baku's Provocations

Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan, at a cabinet session today, reiterated his administration’s commitment to the peace process with Azerbaijan despite Baku’s ongoing closure of the Lachin Corridor in violation of a February 22 International Court of Justice order to ensure the unimpeded movement of persons, vehicles and cargo along the roadway.

Pashinyan said Armenia will not succumb to Baku’s provocations designed to further destabilize the region.

He pointed to last week’s Azerbaijani military advanced up to 300 meters into Armenian territory at five local sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border adjacent to the village of Tegh.

Pashinyan said that the situation in the border area improved as a result of negotiations held by Armenian and Azerbaijani officials.
