Regional Peace Must Address "Rights" of Artsakh Populace, Says Armenian Foreign Minister
Armenian Foreign Affairs Ararat Mirzoyan, during a parliamentary Q&A session today, reiterated the Pashinyan administration’s view that peace and stability in the region can only be achieved if the rights and security of Nagorno-Karabakh Armenians are addressed.
To date, government representatives have failed to elaborate on what they mean by “rights”, let alone what mechanisms they envisage to guarantee such rights.
Following Armenia’s defeat in the 2020 Karabakh war, the Pashinyan government has done an about-face regarding Artsakh.
The government no longer speaks about the principle of self-determination for Artsakh Armenians and has publicly recognized Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity.
