Armenian National Assembly Deputy Speaker Hakob Arshakyan and Syrian Ambassador to Armenia Nora Arisian met today in Yerevan and discussed the ongoing blockade of the Lachin Corridor and the tense situation along sections of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border.

Arsian expressed her gratitude to Armenia and the Armenian people for always standing by and supporting the friendly people of Syria in their times of difficulty.

She pointed to Armenia’s support to Syria following the February 2022 earthquake.

Damascus-born Arisian was appointed Syria’s ambassador to Armenia in May 2022.  She had been serving as one of two representatives of the Armenian community in Syria’s parliament. She also chaired the Syrian-Armenia inter-parliamentary friendship group.
