Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan today issued the following message to mark the Yezidi New Year’s holiday.

I cordially congratulate the Yezidi community in Armenia on the New Year.

May this year be marked by peace and continuous achievements for our Yezidi compatriots and the Yezidi people around the world.

The historical and cultural relations between the Armenian and Yezidi people date back centuries. The relations between our peoples are characterized by mutual support, compassion and sympathy for each other, as well as the desire to overcome hardships together.

Even today, preserving its spiritual and cultural heritage, the Yezidi community participates in numerous spheres of life in Armenia, contributing to the development of our country.

I am sure that the friendship between the Armenian and Yezidi peoples will strengthen even more, based on the traditions we have formed.
