June 14 (APA) - Azerbaijani Defense Ministry spokesman Colonel Eldar Sabiroglu lashed out at an unnamed Azerbaijani website for alleging that some 40 Azerbaijani soldiers were recently killed in skirmishes with Armenian forces on the contact line.
Sabiroglu labelled the allegations as disinformation and said they had “caused confusion in the society and press”.
June 14 (APA) - The news site says the Azerbaijani Defense Ministry reports that Armenian forces continue to violate the ceasefire up and down the contact line from the occupied areas near Gulustan village of Azerbaijan’s Goranboy region, in nameless heights of Azerbaijan’s Goygol and Khojavand regions, near Garaxanbayli, Horadiz, Gorgan and Ashagi Seyidahamadli villages of Azerbaijan’s Fuzuli region, near Shikhlar, Cavahirli, Shirvanli, Shirvanli villages of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam region.
June 14 (News.Az) - Turkish air force commander Mehmet Erten and coastline security troops, Vice-admiral Sardar Dulger are expected to visit Baku.
According to Turkish sources, the aim of the visit is to discuss development of ties with Azerbaijani colleagues.
June 14 (Today.Az) - Candidate for the post of U.S. Ambassador in Azerbaijan Richard Morningstar says that the common interests of Azerbaijan coincide with the priorities of U.S. foreign policy.
At a U.S. Senate hearing, Morningstar promised to do everything possible to strengthen relations between Azerbaijan and the USA.
June 14 (Trend) - At a press-conference with OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Eamon Gilmore in Baku today Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov said, “First of all, it is necessary for Armenia to withdraw its troops from the Azerbaijani territory to resolve the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.”
"Azerbaijan has agreed to introduce an incident investigation mechanism," the minister said. "However, after the troops are withdrawn, this mechanism will not be required."
He said that introducing a mechanism in the current situation means even more strengthening of the status quo.
"After the troops are withdrawn, snipers on the border will not be required," Mammadyarov said.
