
European Union Welcomes Meeting of Armenian, Azerbaijani Foreign Ministers
European Union Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar has welcomed this week’s meeting of the foreign ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan in the U.S.
Klaar, in a Tweet, writes that progress can only be made through dialog and that the European Union will continue to work with its partners in their quest for sustained peace in the South Caucasus.
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov held negotiations to normalize relations between the two countries on May 1-4 in Arlington, VA (USA).
While in the U.S., they met with U.S. Secretary of State Anthony Blinken and U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan.
