Azerbaijani military troops today fired artillery and mortar shells in the direction of Sotk, a village in Armenia’s Gegharkunik province.

Two Armenian soldiers were wounded according to the Armenian Defense Ministry.

The ministry refuted Azerbaijani claims that Armenian troops had first fired on Azerbaijani positions.

The ministry reports that Azerbaijani troops opened fire at 6am local time and were still firing at 8am.

Update: The Armenian Defense Ministry reports that four Armenian Soldiers were wounded in the attack, sustaining non-life threatening injuries. The ministry reports that a ceasefire has been arranged.
