
Armenian Prosecutor General, U.S. Officials Discuss Drug Trafficking
Armenia’s Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan today received a delegation led by James Applegate, Acting Deputy Executive Secretary of the Office of Drug Enforcement and Law Enforcement Cooperation of the U.S. Department of State.
Vardapetyan, according to her office, stressed the need to further refine the capabilities of Armenia’s prosecutors to combat money laundering, illegal drug trafficking, cyber and corruption crimes and expand cooperation with the U.S.
In related news, Italian police today seized almost three tons of cocaine hidden in two refrigerated containers containing bananas that had been shipped from Ecuador destined to Armenia.
