Pashinyan, Putin Discuss Karabakh Humanitarian Crisis
Russian President Vladimir Putin and Armenian PM Nikol Pashinyan met today in Sochi and discussed bilateral relations and the situation in Nagorno Karabakh.
Pashinyan, according to his office, told Putin that Karabakh Armenians have been deprived of gas and electricity for the past several months because of Azerbaijan’s closure of the Lachin Corridor and that a limited supply of food is being shipped with the assistance of Russian peacekeepers.
Pashinyan also congratulated Putin on the upcoming anniversary of Russia Day, June 12, 1991, when the Russian parliament formally declared Russian sovereignty from the Soviet Union.
The two met on the sidelines of sessions of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council and the CIS Heads of Government Council.
