Azerbaijani troops opened small arms fire on Armenian military positions near Sev Lich (Black Lake) located in Armenia’s Syunik Province.

In May 2021, Azerbaijani troops advanced some 3.5 kilometers into Armenian territory near the lake and occupied the nearby height of Metz Ishkhanasar.

The lake is split between Armenia's Syunik Province and the Lachin District of Azerbaijan, with the  majority in Armenia.
