Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan, in a Facebook post today, again called on the international community to take immediate steps to prevent a genocide in Nagono Karabakh.

“We urge and demand from all the main actors not to delay and not to wait for more large-scale tragedies, and to take practical and effective steps to stop the further course of this genocide," reads the post.

Harutyunyan welcomed the Armenian government’s recent request that the UN Security Council convene an emergency meeting to address the humanitarian crisis in Karabakh.

He writes the August 7 report of former International Court of Justice Prosecutor Luis Moreno Ocampo that accuses Azerbaijan of committing genocide against the Armenians of Artsakh has focused international media attention on Karabakh.
