Artsakh Resident Dies from Malnutrition, Says Country's Ombudsman
Artsakh’s Human Rights Defender Gegham Stepanyan, in a Facebook post today, writes that one of the country's citizens had died from chronic malnutrition.
Stepanyan writes that a forensic examination concluded that forty-year-old Stepanakert resident K. Hovhannisyan died from a lack of necessary nutrients that led to a shutdown of his internal organs.
The official links Hovhannisyan’s death to the eight-month Azerbaijani blockade of Artsakh resulting in a shortage of food and medical care for the most vulnerable groups of society.
