Armenian Apostolic Church Criticizes Pashinyan Government for Karabakh Stance
The Armenian Apostolic Church’s Supreme Council (SC) today strongly criticized Armenia’s government for recognizing Artsakh as a part of Azerbaijan.
The SC, in a statement, says such a position must be rejected and that right of Artsakh Armenians to self-determination is “indisputable”.
The SC accuses Baku of pursuing a policy to occupy the Republic of Artsakh and territories of the Republic of Armenia and to destroy all traces of Armenian heritage in the region.
The SC says that while it welcomes the efforts of the international community to resolve the Artsakh problem, such efforts continue to be inadequate.
The SC calls on the government of Armenia to take all measures that will consolidate all the potential and capabilities of national, political and public structures in Armenia, Artsakh and the diaspora.
