Armenian National Assembly Speaker Alen Simonyan and Jean-Louis Bourlanges, Chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee of the French National Assembly, met today in Yerevan and discussed Yerevan-Baku relations and the situation in Karabakh.

"I came to convey France's support of Armenia, to fight together for the values which your country stands for," said Bourlanges, adding that although his country does a lot for Armenia, it is not enough in terms of resolving the tense situation as soon as possible.

Simonyan, according to his office, said he expects France to continue its efforts to ensure the safety of the people of Nagorno Karabakh and to condemn the humanitarian disaster there.

 He also spoke about the need to apply international sanctions against Azerbaijan.
