
Armenia to Provide $101 in Rental Housing Aid to Displaced Artsakh Armenians
Armenia will pay 40,000 drams (US$101) to displaced Artsakh residents now in Armenia looking for rental housing.
The government will provide an additional 10,000 drams to pay utility bills.
These funds will not go to people who own apartments in Armenia. People looking for rental housing have six months to file for the funds. There are no geographic restrictions for the housing assistance program.
According to the latest official data, the number of forcibly displaced people from Nagorno Karabakh is 100,483. 45,516 are using the shelters offered by the state.
Ararat Province - 12,638; Kotayk - 11,132; Armavir - 3,943; Syunik – 3,655; Gegharkunik - 3,516 people; Aragatzotn Province - 2,262; Lori - 2,252; Tavush – 2,129; Shirak – 2,114; Vayots Dzor – 1,756.
The rest are most likely housed in Yerevan state shelters.
Earlier, the government announced a one-time payment of 100,000 to assist those Karabakh Armenians now in Armenia.
