Armenian Foreign Minister, U.S. Minsk Group Co-Chair Discuss Karabakh Humanitarian Challenges
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Louis Bono, Senior Adviser for Caucasus Negotiations, Co-Chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, met today in Yerevan and discussed the humanitarian challenges and rights of more than 100.000 forcibly displaced Armenians of Nagorno-Karabakh.
Mirzoyan, according to his office, emphasized the need to restrain encroachments against the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Republic of Armenia and in case of the absence of such intentions on the part of Azerbaijan, the need of constructive engagement of Azerbaijan in the peace process.
Mirzoyan said the international community failed to prevent the mass displacement of Karabakh Armenians from their homeland, which underscores the imperative of clear steps of international actors in such situations.
