Jerusalem Armenian Patriarchate Cancels Cows’ Garden Lease

The Armenian Apostolic Patriarchate of Jerusalem, in a Facebook post today, says it has canceled a July 2021 agreement to lease Cows’ Garden section of the patriarchate to a hotel developer.

News of the 99-year lease agreement with the developer, Xana Gardens Ltd., led to criticism in the Armenian diaspora.

Members of the Jerusalem Armenian community and some local clergy protested the agreement.
