Armenia's Security Service Claims It Thwarted Terrorist Plot to Overthrow Government
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) reports that it has detained five members of a terrorist group in the country that planned to size state buildings to overthrow the government.
The NSS claims it raided the homes of group’s members and prevented the implementation of a planned terrorist operation, named the Northern Leaf Fall, that would have destabilized public life in the country to foment a national salvation uprising.
The NSS claims to have seized arms, ammunition, explosives, video surveillance devices, body armor and computers in the raids.
The NSS reports that documents seized show the group planned to create Ukrainian and Moldovan telegram channels one day prior to the scheduled launch of the terrorist operation to propagandize the operation.
The NSS claims the group planned to take families of its members to Georgia for safety during the terrorist operation.
