Armenia Opens New U.K. Embassy in London

Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and British State Minister for Business and Trade (DBT) Timothy Minto today officially opened the new Armenian Embassy in the United Kingdom.

The Armenian government, on September 7, adopted a decision to allocate £16,670,800 pounds to purchase a building for the country’s embassy in London.

The Embassy of Armenia in the UK has been housed in two rooms in London’s Armenian House (Hye Doon) since Armenia’s independence in 1992. The new building housing the embassy is at 31A St. James Square in central London.

"It is with great pleasure and deep honor that we have gathered here today to celebrate the opening of the new Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in London. This embassy is a beacon of friendship and cooperation between our peoples, and this building is a bridge that connects not only our governments, but also our economies, our cultures and our peoples,” Mirzoyan remarked according to his office.
