Baku Proposes Border Meeting to Finalize Peace Deal with Armenia
Azerbaijan wants to meet with Armenian government officials at a site along the border between the two countries to finalize a peace deal.
Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry, in a statement today, says peace negotiations have stalled, undermining stability and prosperity in the region.
“Azerbaijan stands prepared for direct negotiations with Armenia on a bilateral basis to finalize the peace agreement as soon as possible. We believe it is up to the two countries to decide together the future of their relations,” the ministry writes.
While Baku claims that Armenia took two and a half months to respond to its draft peace agreement proposals, Armenia’s Foreign Ministry today stated Yerevan has submitted its sixth proposal on a peace agreement to Azerbaijan.
