Baku Targeting Armenia’s Sovereign Territory, Says Mirzoyan
Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan, during his speech yesterday at the 30th OSCE Ministerial Council meeting in Skopje, North Macedonia, warned that Azerbaijan is now targeting Armenia’s sovereign territory and is undermining peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
Mirzoyan admonished the OSCE, the largest global security organization, for failing to implement its core tasks - early warning and conflict prevention.
He also accused the international community of “silent complicity” when Azerbaijan launched its military operation to “get the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh without its Armenian population.”
Mirzoyan said that despite Baku’s reluctance to sign a peace deal with Yerevan, “Armenia remains committed to opening a new era of peace in the South Caucasus and believes that it is still possible.”
He called on Azerbaijan to recommit to peace and urged the strong support of international actors in the process.
